Blogs for the Classroom

In your classrooms, you may be wondering what a blog could be used for. Well, a blog is a very useful collaborative Web2.0 tool that allows all of the participants to author blogs and post comment to existing blogs. There are many types of blogs on the internet that may be used by students and teachers. Blogger.com is affiliated with Google, therefore a Gmail account (email) is needed in order to post comments to this blog, or create your own blog.

Gmail (follow directions to set up an account)
Blogger (follow directions to set up a blog of your own)

The Bentley Students will create username and passwords for Gmail and Blogger (same for both) for the students that are participating in the Cluster Challenge Program. That information will be shared with the teachers for extra monitoring purposes. The Bentley students will create a filter for the Gmail accounts and place safeguards on classroom blogs.

Again, please post any questions that you may have about blogs! Also, feel free to answer another person's question, as this blog is a tool for all of us to collaborate with!
